Mountain View Middle School

We are very excited to have you and your 5^th grade student join us at Mtn. View Middle School (MVMS) for the three next years!

 

Here are a few important activities and dates that are coming up:

 

MVMS Counselors visit fifth grade classrooms to talk about middle school transition and to explain 6^th grade elective options.  Elective forms will be distributed to the students which they are to bring home for your guidance in making a choice and for your signature.

 

Signed elective forms are due back to your student’s 5^th grade teacher.

 

MVMS Assistant Principal, Dan Busch, visits 5^th grade classrooms to explain the MVMS behavior incentive program and help establish an incentive for finishing out the 5^th grade.

 

5^th graders tour MVMS with counselors and principals during the school day.  Students will receive locker partner request forms as well.

 

 June 1, 2010

5^th Grade Orientation from 7-8 pm.  During this evening visit at MVMS, staff members will share a variety of information about some of the differences you and your student will find at the middle school.  In addition to a general session packed full of important information, you and your student will have the opportunity to tour the building, practice opening lockers, meet staff, get answers to questions, learn about needed immunizations, discover opportunities to volunteer, enjoy refreshments, and much more.

 

6^th Grade BBQ from 5-8 pm.  This is a “don’t miss” event that has replaced our Back to School Night.  At this event, you can take care of everything before school starts such as: Fees, Bus Barn, CPRD Sports, Edline, E-School News, PE Uniforms/Sweats, Mtn. View Parent Group, Volunteer Badge, Yearbook, Lunch Money, Medical Releases, Schedule and Locker Assignment, School Supplies, Meet Teachers.

 

First day of school.  6^th Graders are greeted at the front door and escorted to their first period class.  School hours are 7:45 am - 2:20 pm.  Doors open at 7:15 am.
