Each sport holds an end-of-the season dessert/banquet to recognize all participants. At the end of the school year, the high school sports program hosts an All-Sports Banquet at George Fox University. Each program recognizes three individuals from their program, any grade level, for character, leadership, and commitment. Student-athletes who participated in three NHS sports during the year receive a certificate.
The following awards are given at the sports banquet:
- Outstanding Senior Athlete - one senior male and one senior female
- Carolyn DeCrevel Award for Character and Citizenship - one senior male and one senior female
- Booster Club Scholarships - four scholarships valued at $500 each
Seniors who participated in eight to twelve NHS sports during the course of their career receive an 8 x 10 plaque. Seniors who participated in a fall, winter, and spring NHS sport all four years are awarded a "12-sport athlete" plaque.
Individual programs are responsible for awarding participation certificates, letter certificates, as well as any program-defined awards, such as MVP, Most Inspirational, etc. The conference head coaches are responsible for all-league voting.
Lettering in Athletics
Each head coach determines the requirements to letter. If your son or daughter is interested in earning a letter in their sport, ask the coach for these requirements.
