April 2012 Athletes of the Month

Samantha Russo and Corey Burt are named Athletes of the Month for April

Corey Burt, Senior has been everything we look for in a track and field student-athlete. His humble personality and lead-by-example attitude are a great asset for our team. Our younger athletes look up to Corey as a leader and he has done nothing but show commitment and dedication to achieve. Through the snow, sleet and driving rain you’ll find Corey in the ring, striving to be the best he can be. He has already set new PR’s in the shot (52’7”) and discus (149’ 10”) and is looking to improve on his top ten state rankings in both events! Watch for Corey to do even bigger and better things as the season continues.

Samantha Russo, Sophomore, plays as our #2 Tennis singles player. Thus far, she is 7 – 0 and has been one of our steadiest and most dedicated student-athletes. She has a quiet intensity about her and a great work ethic
