Medication
The Newberg School District has procedures designed to assist students in taking medication when necessary. When a student needs to take over the counter and/or prescription medication, he/she requests a medication release/procedure form. The form must be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the Registrar located in the Counseling Center. If a parent and/or student does not file this form, Newberg High School will not assume responsibility for delivering and/or dispensing medication.
Injuries
Students injured during school hours must immediately report the injury to the nearest staff member or go to the Health Room, located in the Counseling Center. Students injured during any school sponsored activities, whether during or after school, must report the injury to their advisor or coach.
Emergencies
In case of serious injury or illness of any student at school, the home is called first. If a parent cannot be reached at home or work, the person listed on the emergency authorization card will be called. If there is no response at this number the family physician is called. If the family physician cannot be reached, the student will be taken to Providence Newberg Hospital. Please complete the emergency authorization form very carefully. Complete and accurate information including home and work numbers is very important.
