Organization Portland Children's Museum
Referral: Garage Studio Volunteer
Address 4015 SW Canyon Rd, Portland, OR 97221
Date: This is an Ongoing Opportunity.
Description
Do you enjoy making creative projects using recycled materials? Enjoy working with children? Consider volunteering in the Garage Studio at Portland Children's Museum!
The Garage Studio is a space in the Museum for children five and older to use "found" and recycled objects to create art projects using power tools. Children have access to tools such as hot glue, glue, drills, hammers, and much more to put their projects together so being able to enforce safety policies is an important part of this role.
Duties include modeling creative behavior by occasionally creating projects, preparing materials, keeping studio tidy, greeting children as they come into the studio, and providing children with and enforcing safety rules. The best part? Getting to talk to children about their projects and hear all about their art!
The Garage Studio is open from 10-4 on Saturdays and Sundays and from 1-4 on Wednesdays and Fridays.
