Dual Language Program
The Dual Language Program is available to incoming Kindergarten students via a lottery system, any student moving into Newberg-Dundee Schools that has transferred from a previous Dual Language Program, and any newcomer student from Spanish speaking countries based on enrollment availability. This program is the most effective way for students to acquire language.
About the Program
The Dual Language program began in the 2013-2014 school year at the kindergarten level. An additional grade level has been added to the program each year. The class of students consists of a 50/50 blend of native Spanish and native English speakers. The program will deliver Spanish instruction 80% of the day in Kindergarten, moving to 50/50 Spanish/English instruction by 3rd grade.
The Dual Language Programs are held at Edwards Elementary, Mountain View Middle School, and Newberg High School.
