About School Board Meetings

The Public is welcome to attend school board meetings. 

Regular Sessions

• The Newberg School Board usually meets at 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month for a regular business meeting. Click on the attached calendar PDF at bottom of this web page to see the schedule.
• Business meetings and work sessions are held at the Newberg School District Office, 714 East 6th Street, Newberg, Oregon.
• All meetings are open to the public, except for executive sessions as authorized by law. Time is set aside at the business meeting for public comment.

Work Sessions

Work sessions provide opportunities to discuss specific topics in greater depth. Work sessions are open to the public, however, public comment is reserved for regular sessions.

Executive Sessions

The School Board may convene an executive session in addition to regular sessions and work sessions. Executive sessions are closed to the public in accordance with ORS 192.690(1). News reporters may attend executive sessions but cannot report on the content of the sessions.

Executive session topics are limited to personnel matters, strategies for collective bargaining, real estate negotiations, discussion of records legally exempt from public inspection including student records and discussions with legal counsel.
