Complaint Process

Members of the public, parents, students, and staff are encouraged to make their concerns known to the district and to give the district an opportunity to review those concerns and respond to them in a timely manner.

Parents, students, and staff work together frequently to address concerns and improve the educational experience for students. Whenever possible, concerns should be resolved by communication with the individual teacher or other school employee directly involved in the issue. This type of collaboration is often the most direct and effective way of addressing concerns. If this does not resolve the concern, a complainant is encouraged to speak with the administrator of the school or department.

Because most concerns are resolved through an informal, problem-solving process, the district encourages its use before the filing of a formal written complaint. Using the informal process is optional, however, and a formal complaint may be filed at any time using the formal complaint procedures described in District Policy KL.

A formal complaint may be filed by completing the Formal Complaint Form and submitting it to S.A. Linenberger, Deputy Superintendent and Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator. Contact Linenberger at:
